Hillsboro, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men’s Basketball team, and Head Coach Terry Murphy, earned a major milestone Wednesday night, picking up their first KCAC win of the season with an exciting 97–90 road victory over Tabor. Bethany showcased offensive balance, toughness, and energy for a full 40 minutes, closing the game strong to secure the program’s first conference win.
Keddric Mays II delivered a standout performance, leading all Swedes with 24 points on an efficient 10-of-15 shooting night. His ability to score inside and finish through contact gave Bethany consistent momentum, especially during key stretches of the second half. Jordan Reams added 19 points, knocking down five three-pointers and providing a steady scoring presence from the perimeter.
Milton Kpehe was dominant on the glass, recording a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while also battling defensively in the paint. Donovan Newton chipped in 11 points and six assists, helping direct the offense and keep Bethany playing at a fast, confident pace. The Swedes’ depth was also on display, outscoring Tabor 45–19 in bench points, a key factor in the win.
Bethany shot over 50% from the field in the second half and capitalized on turnovers to pull away late, showing composure and growth in conference play. The win marks an important step forward for the Swedes as they continue to build momentum.
