CHANUTE, Kan. – Bluejay Cross Country hit the trails last Friday as they made their way down to Chanute, Kan. to compete in the Neosho Invite.
“Both our teams ran excellent this weekend”, remarked Head Coach Aaron Yoder. “14 personal bests helped make the evening extra special. Three individuals ran their lifetime bests, which is a great feat to accomplish mid-way through the season in warm conditions.”
Julianna Maxfield led the charge on the women’s side, dominating the field and taking home the individual meet title with a time of 19:31.57, finishing 40 seconds before the next runner crossed the finish. Adrienne Selzer helped push, coming in fourth place, running a time of 20:27.78. Kylie Arnold, Lauren Aden, Sydnee Gardner, and Lauryn Turner created an all-Bluejay pack, finishing ninth-12th, propelling the Bluejay women to their first meet title of the 2025 season.
On the men’s side, Wade Ratzlaff once again proved to be the leader, finishing in 12th place with a time of 29:18.29. Jacob Buller, Elias Simkins, Taegan Gallagher, and Aidan Fasnacht helped give the Tabor men their first team score of the season.
Bluejay Cross Country returns to action on Saturday as they are set to compete at the Carol Swenson Invite, hosted by McPherson College. The meet is scheduled for a 9:00am start time.
