By McPherson College Athletics

WICHITA, Kan. (— McPherson College senior Antonio Fernandez continued his staggering start to the 2023 season by doing something that just two other Bulldogs in history have done before en route to his first KCAC Player of the Week honors.

The Tuscon, Ariz. native became the third Bulldog ever to hit for the cycle in a 14-9 comeback victory over No. 19-ranked USAO on Saturday.

Fernandez opened the week with a three-hit game in a win over Park University in the Bulldogs’ home opener, including a pair of doubles and four RBIs.

He then followed that with the cycle game that also included two doubles, while driving in six runs to help the Bulldogs rally. His hot hitting continued on Sunday, with a pair of singles and an RBI.

Fernandez wrapped up the week going 11-for-17 at the dish while driving in 11 runs and hitting one home run.
