Bullodgs Triumph Over Warriors 4-0 in KCAC Battle

McPherson, Kan. – The Bulldogs hit the road Wednesday for a midday clash with the Sterling College Warriors. Both squads entered the contest aiming to rebound from weekend setbacks in conference play.

How it Happened
From the opening whistle, McPherson set the tone offensively. Alyssa Hill wasted no time, registering three shots in the opening six minutes. Hill broke through in the 20th minute, finishing a feed from Courtney Wickham. The pressure continued from McPherson, and in the 32nd minute Taylor Duvall doubled the lead, capitalizing on a one-on-one with the keeper. Sterling generated a few late first-half chances, but the Bulldogs defense held strong, carrying a 2-0 lead into the break.

Sterling started the second half on the attack, firing two shots that were stopped by Elizabeth Scheuerman. Hill swung the momentum back McPherson’s way in the 53rd minute, scoring her second of the match with a strike from just outside the 18. Gracie Speltz sealed the victory in the 67th minute, launching a long-range effort that caught the keeper off her line. The final whistle secured McPherson’s third win of the season and sixth shutout.
