Bulldogs Leave Missouri with 6-1 Victory Over Valor

Springfield, Missouri – The Bulldogs made the long drive East to take on Evangel University over the weekend. McPherson has been red hot over the last two weeks in the KCAC; most recently, they faced a tough test against the Swedes of Bethany College in their midweek matchup as they earned the 4-3 victory to remain unbeaten in the KCAC.

How it Happened
Despite Evangel finding the win on the #1 Doubles court in a 6-4 match over Arthur Nardy and Hamish Wyatt, the Bulldogs managed to win both the #2 and #3 Doubles matches to earn the first point of the match for the 1-0 lead. Jayson Wasserfuhr and Bruno Barrientos secured a 6-2 victory in the #2 match while Balazs Temesvari and Davian Spies walked off the court with a 6-2 win in the #3 match.

All but one court went in favor of the visitors at the Cooper Tennis Complex in singles play. Nardy (#1) and Wasserfuhr (#2) fought off their opponents with both scorelines sitting at 6-2, 6-3.

Barrientos dropped just one game against Alberto Moya in the #3 Singles match, winning in dominant fashion 6-0, 6-1. Wyatt dropped both sets in the #4 Singles match, but fought valiantly in each set losing 6-4, 6-4.

Temesvari dropped a game in each set played on the #5 court, but still cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Nathan Wilking.

In the #6 match, Spies was perfect in route to his 6-0, 6-0 victory over Chase Buckholz. Following the completion of all the matches, McPherson left the Show-Me State with the 6-1 victory over the Valor.
