Emporia, Kan – McPherson College Track & Field competed in the Emporia State Spring Open Invitational. This was the second meet of the season for the Bulldogs following their season-opener at the Spire Distance Carnival & Team Challenge.
Women’s Events
Johanna Walker competed in the 1500m event for the Bulldogs and finished with a personal-best time of 5:45.63; this would be good enough to win her heat.
Blake Posey’s time of 12.77 in the 100m event was a personal best time. Posey also participated in the 100m hurdles where she place 6th with a time of 14.83.
Men’s Events
Lamar Gordon, who wrapped up his indoor season at NAIA Nationals, placed 11th in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 51.68, good enough for 11th. His Discus throw of 49.42m placed 5th in the competition.
Kamden Tackett broke a personal-best distance of 13.44m in the Shot Put, next to Joshua Ferguson who also broke a personal record with a Shot Put throw of 14.56m.
Brian Fackert finished in 5th place in the 800m with a time of 1:58.95. He would finish his weekend with a time of 4:02.47 in the 1500m, good for 6th place.
Eric Brown opened up his freshman season with a time of 2:06.76 in the 800m.
