Bluejay Men’s Basketball make it two wins in a row with victory in Highway 56 Showdown against Tigers

McPHERSON, Kan. – Fresh off a week of rest and preparation, Head Coach Josh Roach and Bluejay Men’s Basketball hit the road on Saturday and made the short trip down Highway 56 to take on non-conference rival Central Christian.

GAME NOTES

  • With the win, Tabor improves to 2-2 on the young season
  • Saturday’s contest marks the 16th meeting between the two programs, dating back to the 1948 season
  • Tabor owns a 14-2 record in the series

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

  • Marque Wilkerson led the Bluejays with 22 points
  • Niieihii Blackbear (14), Andrija Maric (13), and Khalil Allen (13) rounded out the team in double-figures
  • Maric led the team on the glass with nine total boards
  • Wilkerson also dished out five assists and snagged four steals
  • Blackbear recorded two blocks in the win

  • “I feel like we grew up a little tonight in how we approached the game. We kept going to what was working instead of playing outside of ourselves. We have a long way to go, but we are making strides in the right direction.”

  • Tabor returns to the road on Tuesday as the Bluejays head down to Oklahoma to take on Langston. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
