Lindsborg, Kan. – This Saturday, our Men’s and Women’s Swedes XC teams made the trip down to McPherson, Kan. to compete in the Carol Swenson Invite. Overall, the team had a good showing on the course. Logan Pevehouse led the charge for the women’s team with a 21:59 in the 5k. On the Men’s side, Eli Gruenbacher ran a strong race to lead the guys with a time of 28:09 in the 8k.
“This past weekend we saw great runs by the men and women’s XC teams,” said Head Coach Daylon Smith. “I am proud of the way the team ran after being off since September. The men’s team came in with great energy and won the meet with five guys in the top six; they finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th individually. The women’s squad came in with confidence and a spark. Our top girl got 3rd place and we had three top 15 finishes! Overall, we had a change of pace, the team is headed in the right direction.”

The Swedes will have two weeks to prepare for their next competition, the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic hosted by Doane University. The meet will be held in Crete, Neb. with an estimated start time of 10:00 AM.
