15 Warriors recognized as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes

Sterling, Kan. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) proudly announces the 2025 NAIA Scholar-Athletes for fall sports. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the fall sports who have excelled academically, including men’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s cross country, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.

To qualify as an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale, be a junior, senior or graduate student academic standing making normal progress toward a degree, have completed at least one semester at the nominating institution and be a competing student-athlete in the sport for which nominated.

Sterling College had 15 student-athletes earn this prestigious honor. The honorees span a diverse array of sports, reflecting the broad scope of talent and dedication among Sterling College’s athletes. From the volleyball team, 9 athletes demonstrated their academic prowess: Grace Battershell, Caitlyn Belote, Kaleigh Guhr, Kodie Herd, Kalli Kaser, Taylor “Dru” Lindsey, Aliya McClanahan, Hannah Rupp, Chloe Schmidt and Keala Wilson.

Women’s soccer and women’s cross country reach had one honoree: Shayna Dale for women’s soccer and Audrey Blake for women’s cross country.

Men’s soccer contributed two student athletes: Angel Garcia and Daniel Stone while men’s golf was represented by Sondre Storli Jenson and Zach Surface.
