McPherson County Community Foundation Releases $63,000 in October

McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — The McPherson County Community Foundation and the Moundridge Foundation have announced their grant recipients for October 2025. This cycle the Foundation released over $63,520 to organizations across the county. These distributions came from three different community funds.

McPherson County General Grants

Kansas Learning Center for Health – On the Road to a Healthier Lifestyle- $5,000

Through our “On the Road to a Healthier Lifestyle” initiative, KLCH will bring these health programs to the classrooms of the future generations of McPherson, KS. KLCH has a 60-year history of health education in KS, and this project reflects both our mission and innovation in brining evidence-based content to children and youth in a way that’s engaging, practical, and sustainable.

Windom Senior Center – Kitchen Floor Replacement – $4,000

Need to replace kitchen floor due to large crack in floor due to recent weather conditions, excessive rain, tree roots, etc.

Inman Senior Center – 2 ADA restrooms for existing Senior Center – $9,800

We Care, We Serve, We Support! Our existing facility does not have ADA Restrooms. We have patrons and guests who have wheelchairs, walkers and scooters. Our plan is to put in 1 ADA women’s restroom and 1 ADA men’s restroom.

Project Yes – Incentive Program – $750

Project YES is a 12-week program for youth ages 11–17 involved in the judicial system, focusing on academics, social-emotional skills, workforce readiness, and life skills such as obtaining a driver’s license.

FYR Mac-Town – 25-26 FYR program – $1,500

Forging Youth Resilience (FYR) Mac-Town provides CrossFit classes, mentorship, nutrition education, healthy snacks and a safe space for all of our athletes to attend 6 days a week.

Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish heritage Museum – 2025 Old Mill Repairs – $5,000 Matching

The 2025 Old Mill Repairs project will use this grant as match for the Heritage Trust Fund grant to address urgent preservation needs on the the Smoky Valley Roller Mill: 1) Historic Retaining Wall Preservation – Drainage & Regrading; 2) Historic Retaining Wall Stabilization & Reinforcement; 3) Upper-wall tuckpointing; and 4–5) Accessibility & Safety Repairs on the West Porch and Front Entrance.

Kansas Learning Center for Health – On the Road to a Healthier Lifestyle – $10,000

Through our “On the Road to a Healthier Lifestyle” initiative, we will deliver 16 targeted health education programs to grades K-12; program topics include nutrition, body systems, drug prevention, puberty, and many more.

USD 400 – One Book, One School – district- community! – $5,530

“One Book, One School” is a multi-week, district-wide reading event where students, families and staff read the SAME book.

Support Lindsborg Child Care through technology support, Infant toddler Stipends, and Professional Development

Moundridge Community Foundation

Memorial Home Pine Village – Enhancing health and Fitness opportunities for Moundridge Residents – $2,425

With support from this grant, Pine Village will purchase new fitness equipment to expand class offerings, improve workout quality, and promote healthier lifestyles for people of all ages. With additional equipment, the Wellness Center can host more diverse classes, attract more participants, and meet the community’s need for accessible, affordable fitness options.
