McPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson City Commissioners Tuesday will take action on a resolution to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate for the 2026 budget.

As of now the maximum mill levy for the city would be set at 53.238 mills, which would be just under 1.2 mills above the levy that would raise the same property tax dollars as for the 2025 budget.

Commissioners will consider a number of personnel items for the Police Department including two promotions, and for the Fire Department renewal of their record management software contract along with attendance at an upcoming training on that system.

Other agenda items include acceptance of bids for carpet cleaning at the Municipal Center, tree and stump removal at Lakeside Park, for replacement of the HVAC furnace and compressor at the Park Shop, a door repair at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and a change order on lift station project along with an event request.

Their meeting begins at 8:30 AM at the Municipal Center. Following the meeting they will have a study session at which they will look at installation of a hydrant at Fire Station 2 and sale of some Fire Department Equipment to the Board of Public Utilities.
