The Primary election in Kansas has come and gone – and sets the stage for the general election in November.
Republican Ty Masterson won over Republican voters and will face off against Democrat Cindy Holscher in a race to lead the state from Topeka in 2027.
Incumbent U.S. Senator Roger Marshall cruised to a primary victory and he’ll square off with Democrat Adam Hamilton this fall, while Big First Republican Congressman Tracey Mann will defend his seat by facing Democrat Lauren Reihold in November.
Across the state – Kansas voters rejected the idea of changing the state constitution to elect Kansas Supreme Court justices by a wide margin of about 63-percent to 37-percent.
Voters in Lindsborg and Marquette decided to push go on a 21-million dollar bond to upgrade the facilities at Smoky Valley Middle and High School. The bond will also pay for the design and construction of a new agriculture wing on campus.
