Feb. 20: Deadline to Register for 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election

McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — McPherson County Courthouse shared very important dates coming up regarding the Presidential Preference Primary (PPP).

If you would like a ballot by mail, you must request it no later than close of business, Tuesday, Feb. 20! McPherson County Courthouse cannot make exceptions. Feb. 20th is also the last day to register to vote or make a change to your voter registration. 

Only registered Democratic and Republican parties will receive a ballot to participate in the PPP Election. IF you are UNAFFILIATED then you may declare a party at any time through the close of polls on election day to receive that party’s ballot. If you wish to change your party and have NOT done so by Feb 20th then you will have to vote provisional.

IMPORTANT 2024 ELECTION DATES 

February 20, 2024 – Deadline to register to vote or update voter registration information to participate in the Presidential Primary Election (PPP).  No party affiliation changes after this day. An Unaffiliated voter may affiliate at any time. 

February 20, 2024 – LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR ADVANCE BALLOT BY MAIL.

Visit https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/voterview/ to confirm your address, party association, mail-in ballot statuses, and polling place locations.

February 28, 2024 – First day of advance voting. Advance ballots by mail are sent out and In-person advance voting begins. 

March 18, 2024 – In-Person advance voting ENDS AT NOON. No Exceptions. 

March 19, 2024 – PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION. All regular polling places in McPherson County will be open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

(ALL ADVANCE BALLOTS BY MAIL MUST BE RECEIVED BY CLOSE OF POLLS 7:00 PM )

March 21, 2024 – The Post Election Audit will be held here at the Courthouse, basement level @ 10:30 AM. 

March 25, 2024 – will be the County Canvass. The Clerk will ask the Commissioners permission to open the provisional ballots @ the Commissioners meeting @ 9:00 AM and final official results will follow. 

August 6, 2024 – PRIMARY ELECTION

November 5, 2024 – GENERAL ELECTION
