McPHERSON, Kan. — The Central Kansas Trails announced that limestone screenings are being put down on the mile between Pueblo and Quivira. Once complete, the surface will be soft until it gets rain on it.

There is a workday scheduled on Saturday, Aug. 9 starting at 7 a.m. at Quivira, working north.

According to Central Kansas Conservancy President Michele Cullen, a volunteer with a tractor has been scheduled to help move cut limbs as well as a volunteer with a dump trailer to haul the limbs off.

“We are hoping to make a lot of progress on Saturday, so it would be great to have a good turnout of volunteers,” Cullen added.

Items to bring: Work gloves, loppers, a chain saw (if you have one) and pole saws (if you have them).

If work goes past noon, Cullen said she will provide lunch.

If you plan to help, contact Michele Cullen at (office) 620-241-3000 or (cell) 620-755-3821.
