No. 8 Barton Volleyball serves up sweep at Pratt, sets stage for Wednesday’s showdown at No. 12 Colby

Following a week away from competition, the No. 8 ranked Barton Community College volleyball team didn’t miss a beat Monday evening, rolling to a straight set sweep at Pratt Community College (25-17, 25-19, 25-15) inside the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.

Opening a stretch of three conference matches this week, the Cougars improved to 4-0 in league play and 17-4 overall, while the Beavers slide to 1-4 in conference and 6-11 on the season.

Barton now shifts its focus to Wednesday’s showdown of conference leaders, visiting No. 12 Colby for a 6:30 p.m. first serve inside the Colby Event Center before wrapping up the week Saturday at Garden City.

Balanced production fueled the Cougars sweep, highlighted by Stasa Stamenkovic‘s match high 12 kills on a .440 attack percentage to go along with 10 digs, marking her second straight and ninth double-double of season.

Brylynn Wicker was efficient with seven kills on a .538 swing, while Indigo Pruitt and Aubrey Olander chipped in six and five kills respectively. Olander led Barton’s net play recording six of the Cougars six blocks. Caroliny Cristiny and Paola Batista added four kills each.

Running the 6-2 offense, Mileah Neal dished out a team high 18 assists with a trio of service aces, while Ori Briger contributed nine helpers and two aces. Janka Tolnai concluded the distributions with seven assists.

Defensively Mina Kaneko anchored the back row with a team high 14 digs.
