The Barton Community College women’s soccer team dropped a 4–0 road decision Saturday afternoon at 20th ranked Butler Community College.
The Cougars fall to 1-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play, while Butler improves to 2-4-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the league.
Barton will return to the pitch on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., taking on Garden City Community College at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays.
The Grizzlies struck early and never looked back, finding the net twice in the opening half before adding two more goals in the first five minutes after the break.
Barton generated 11 shots overall, including matching Butler’s nine on frame, but couldn’t solve the Grizzlies’ goalkeeper Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth in suffering the shutout.
Freshman goalkeeper Leonie Kerle recorded five saves for the Cougars, while Sara Aguirre (five shots, three on goal) and Meane Martin Damiao (two shots on goal) led the attack.
