Barton’s Potter named week five conference and national Women’s Soccer Division I Player of the Week

Katie Potter of the Barton Community College women’s soccer team has been named not only the KJCCC, but NJCAA, Division I Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Potter played a key role in Barton’s perfect 3-0 week, which included a 5-2 victory knocking off No. 20 Garden City.

The sophomore racked up three goals and two assists for eight points in the three games, setting up the initial goal versus Garden City followed by a highlighted performance posting a two-goal, one-assist outing which included the eventual game winner in a 5-1 road win at Lamar. Adding another net shaker in Barton’s 3-0 shutout at Dodge City on Sunday, Potter completed the week with a .429 shooting percentage and .857 mark for shots on goal.

Winners of three straight, the Cougars put their 2-2-0 conference and 4-3-0 overall mark to the test today in a 5:00 p.m. kickoff at conference leading and 7th ranked Cowley College (3-0-1, 3-0-2).
