GREAT BEND, Kan. — The 2024 Chip and Seal with a Fog coat project is scheduled to begin Tuesday Sept. 3, 2024, circumstances pending. The areas to be affected by this project are select streets North of 24th between Washington and Harrison, between 281 bypass and Holland- 16th to 21st, 10th to 8th between Washington to Madison. Again, these will be selected streets that have been assessed to benefit the most from this style of maintenance.
Once started the project is expected to take approximately 4 days to put down the chip and seal. Once the chip seal is laid, they will come back at a later date to apply the fog seal. Please be attentive as crews work in these areas. The City will make every effort to minimize the impact on traffic and thanks everyone for their patience.
