Governor Laura Kelly announced Thursday over $32.5 million in state grants to maintain and enhance services for adult and child survivors of crime. These grants, funded through the State General Fund were awarded to nonprofit organizations providing services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence as well as child abuse and neglect.
Grants in support of domestic violence and sexual assault services were awarded to Family Crisis Center in Great Bend, which also received a Children’s Advocacy Grant which brings together professionals to investigate and respond to child abuse, went to.
A Children’s Advocacy Grant was also awarded to Rice County Child Advocacy Center in Lyons.
Central Kansas CASA was awarded a Court Appointed Special Advocate Grant for services in Barton, Ellsworth, Rice, Russell and Stafford Counties.
