Chanute, KS – Neosho Panthers pulled off an exciting walk-off victory defeating NCMC 11-10 in a back-and-forth battle. Trailing 10–9 in the bottom of the seventh, Neosho completed the comeback when Sydney Sapulpa delivered a clutch double, driving in two runs to secure the win. Neosho’s offense was strong throughout the game, finishing with 11 hits on the day.
The Panthers got on the board early in the bottom of the first when Kaitlin Base singled to bring home the first run of the game. After NCMC tied things in the second, Neosho responded immediately. In the bottom of the second, Abbi Godfrey ripped a double to score two runs, and Kamden Bray followed with an RBI single to extend the Panthers’ lead to 4-1. Neosho regained the momentum again in the bottom of the fifth with a power surge. Brenna Kohlmeier launched a two-run home run to center field, Anna Eberle added a solo homer to left, and then Favy Najar drove in another run on a groundout, putting the Panthers back in front 8-6. NCMC briefly took the lead in the top of the seventh, Neosho showed extreme resilience in their final at-bats. Favy Najar was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, tying the game, before Sydney Sapulpa’s game-winning double sealed the dramatic walk-off victory.
Bridgett Campbell earned the win in relief for the Panthers, allowing three hits and three runs, while striking out three without issuing a walk. Kamden Bray started in the circle, tossing three innings and striking out four while allowing just two hits and no earned runs. Makenzi Escoe also contributed in relief. The Panthers were aggressive on the base paths as well, collecting four stolen bases, with Faith Jones swiping two.
