Clyde Davis Jr. tabbed KJCCC Freshman of the year; Demcher & Stephenson named all-conference

Three Red Devil men’s basketball athletes received post-season conference honors this week, including KJCCC Freshman of the Year.

Clyde Davis Jr. was named KJCCC Freshman of the year and First-Team All-KJCCC after an impressive first year at Allen. The Oklahoma native tallied a total of 541 points this season for the Red Devils, marking the second highest points per game in the conference while averaging 18.7 PPG. Davis Jr. also recorded 5.4 rebounds per game, and 3.9 assists per game, ranking in the top 10 in the KJCCC in assists, steals, and free-throw percentage.

Second-Team All-KJCCC selection Jayson Demcher also helped the Red Devils to a second-place finish in the KJCCC and NJCAA Region 6 Tournament runner-up finish, ending the season as the 8th highest scoring individual in the conference with 402 points on the season and averaging 13.9 points per game. The sophomore also made a defensive presence throughout the season, leading Allen with 5.9 rebounds per game, while being 9th in the conference.

Freshman Moses Stephenson rounded out the Red Devils post-season awards with a Third-Team All-KJCCC award. Stephenson recorded an average of 12.2 points per game, ranking 3rd for Allen, and 27th overall in conference. Stephenson tallied 3.3 rebounds per game, and ranked 20th in the conference for steals per game.
