GARNETT, Kan. — Garnett and Anderson County officials are working with the Kansas Departments of Health and Environment and Transportation, the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the response after a white box truck was observed leaking an unknown substance about 6 PM Wednesday at Maple Street and Park Road.
The vehicle is reported to have continued south from there to 6th Avenue and then east to US 169.
The City of Garnett in a statement last night said the public is being asked to avoid the area and follow posted detours until the situation is resolved. No additional information is available for release at this time.
