IOLA, Kan. — Iola Police are looking for an identified suspect in connection with the discovery of a Chemical bomb Sunday.
In a statement Monday morning, Police said they had been given information about a bomb in a ditch near Cottonwood and Buchanan Streets.
A search led to locating the device, after which bomb technicians from the Kansas Highway Patrol responded, and successfully removed the device without incident.
Further investigation led to a search warrant being executed in the 600 block of North Cottonwood. At last word the suspect, who has not been identified, remains at large, and the case will be turned over to the Allen County Attorney’s for a requested charge of criminal use of an explosive.
