The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin repairing 2.2 miles of U.S. 169 south of Humboldt in Allen County beginning the week of March 16.
Work will involve pavement patching and bridge repair in three stages. A traffic light will guide one lane of traffic at a time through the work zones during all stages of the project. Travelers can expect delays of no more than 10 minutes.
The project is expected to be completed by May, conditions permitting. Here are the locations:
- The first stage begins north of the southbound U.S. 169 exit for 1150th Street. The work zone will be four-tenths of a mile long.
- The second stage will start south of Arizona Road, and the work zone will be three-tenths of a mile long.
- The final stage starts about a half mile north of stage two and involves a half mile stretch of highway.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/southeast-kansas-projects.
