IOLA, Kan. — Chickens are back on the Iola City Council agenda Monday.

Robin Lohman will meet with the Council during their 6 PM meeting at the Riverside Park Community building to consider legalizing them in residential zones within the city limits. This matter was brought up last year, and at that time the Council rejected the idea on a 3-4 vote.

The Council will consider requests connected with the Allen County Fair including the beer garden, curfew waiver, temporary electric panels and staff assistance as needed. The Council will also hear a request for a local traveling baseball team to use one of the fields in Riverside Park for a tournament August 9th.

Other agenda items include budget presentations from the various enterprise funds covering city utilities along with budgets from Iola Recreation and the Iola Public Library.
