ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. — The Allen County Landfill will be closed Wednesday due to forecast high winds,for which a wind advisory has been issued. Under a policy adopted earlier this year, the landfill will be closed when Allen County is under a wind advisory or high wind warning. A wind advisory has been issued from 7 p.m. this evening to 1 p.m. Wednesday for all of southeast Kansas, with northwest winds gusting to near 50 miles an hour forecast.
