IOLA, Kan. (Sept. 17, 2025) — Allen Community College agriculture students gathered Sept. 10 at Sam and Louie’s restaurant in Iola for the September Collegiate Farm Bureau meeting, where they elected new officers and discussed upcoming leadership opportunities.

Sophomore Kynlee Lind of Burlington was elected president. Amelia Behrends, a sophomore from Baldwin, will serve as vice president, and freshman Bodee West of Oklahoma Union was elected secretary and Student Senate representative.

Students in attendance included Alexis Kincaid, Colby Troxel, Shaun McLaughlin, Candice Ashlock, Baylie Crooks, Hailee Lanham, ACC Shooting Sports Coach Destry Roye, and ACC Livestock Judging Coach Rhett Taylor.

Members were reminded to submit their $25 dues to the state before the next meeting.

“This group of students is going above and beyond the classroom and being servant leaders for Allen Agriculture,” said Taylor. “Joining Collegiate Farm Bureau gives students hands-on opportunities to lead at state, district, and local high school FFA events.”

Upcoming activities include Iola Farm City Days Oct. 18–19, the Southeast District FFA Leadership School in Girard Nov. 12, and future Kansas Farm Bureau discussion meets.
