Recent videos include his buddy, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson with the song, “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get”. His newest album released August 1st entitled Wild Horses includes the songs “Me & A Beer”, “This Flag”, “Fight For A Girl” and more.
Opening for Chris Janson are The Kentucky Headhunters. The Kentucky Headhunters were declared “the great American rock’n’roll band” by Billboard magazine and began their professional journey in 1968 when brothers Fred and Richard Young, and Cousins Greg Martin and Anthony Kenney formed the southern blues-rock band Itchy Brother, named after a cartoon character. The band morphed into The Kentucky Headhunters in 1986. Their first album, 1989’s Pickin’ On Nashville, was a massively successful debut album that originally was recorded as a low-budget demo tape intended to be sold at live shows. It was then released by Mercury Records and surprised the world, becoming a bona fide hit, selling over two million copies. The album won a Grammy Award, three Country Music Awards, an American Music Award and an Academy of Country Music Award. It spawned
four consecutive Top 40 Country Hits. Currently the band is made up of Richard Young, Fred Young, Greg Martin and Doug Phelps. Top hits include “Dumas Walker”, “Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine, “Spirit in the Sky”, “Oh Lonesome Me”, and “The Ballad of Davy Crocket”. Other fan favorites include “Rock ‘n Roll Angel”, “It’s Chitlin Time”, “Redneck Girl, and “Only Daddy That’ll Walk the Line”.
Rising artist, Kelsey Hart, joins the Cornstock stage lineup. While working as a barber, Kelsey Hart began writing songs and eventually secured a publishing deal with Curb Records in 2020, becoming a sought-after co-writer for artists like Jake Owen, Trace Adkins and Dyan Scott. He decided to become an artist himself in 2021. His song “Life With You” became a viral hit, accumulating over 201 million TikTok views and significant engagement, which helped him debut on the Top 1 0 Billboard Country Digital Songs Chart and Top 30 at Country Radio. He’s amassed 117 million global career streams to-date, one of Billboard’s 5 Must-Hear new Country songs, 596 million TikTok views and 7 million views on YouTube for “Life With You” alone. Kelsey has new music out right now including “Fireworks”, “I Went to a Bar”, “Crazy ‘Bout You”, “Give You Mine”, “Burn My Summer”, “4×4”, “Gone With The Wind” and many more as he gains in popularity with a full 2025 concert tour.
First to take the stage is a regional favorite, Trevor Holman and The Haymakers. Formed in 2022, the band includes Colony native Trevor Holman, Osawatomie’s Greg Branson, Garrett Branson from KCMO, Neil Kelly of Olathe, Jory Ramsey of Overland Park, and Soundman Quentin Sams of Welda. The band specializes in Red Dirt Country and Classic Country. “We always want to put a spotlight on local talent, and we look forward to seeing the communities that support Trevor and the band at Cornstock in September”, says Susan Wettstein, original creator of the music festival.
