The Sedgwick boys lived at the free-throw line Friday in beating Trinity Catholic 49-39.
On one hand, the volume of free throws helped Sedgwick, as the Cardinals shot 41. On the other, they hit just 22, which helped Trinity stay around.
Blake Hammeke scored a game-high 18 points for Trinity, which didn’t score for more than four minutes into the fourth quarter. Jackson Scarlett had 16 points for Sedgwick.
Sedgwick girls 51, Trinity Catholic 26 – Trinity had a bright start, lead 7-3 after one quarter. But then, Sedgwick’s perimeter shooting too off, as the Cardinals pulled away for a win.
In the second quarter, Logan Stucky and Logan Budde each had a pair of 3s in the second quarter, which saw Sedgwick pull ahead 24-9. Stucky finished with a game-high 16 points. Addie Crockett led Trinity with 10 points.
