Scott City’s Hot Shooting Sinks Celtics in Third-Place Game

STERLING – Scott City sank 11 3-pointers, and the Beavers shot 56% from the field Friday in their 63-28 win over Trinity Catholic in the third-place game at the Sterling Invitational at Sterling College.

The Celtics had no answer for Scott City’s sizzling shooting. Junior Meza poured in 26 points, hitting 10 of 12 shots to lead Scott City.

Beau Towell led the Celtics with eight pointsm while Damacio Vargas had a career-high six points in just his third varsity appearance of the season.

Trinity Catholic fell to 4-9. The Celtics will next play Tuesday at home against Smoky Valley.
