The Hutchinson High girls soccer team rattled off its fifth win in a row Thursday, as the Salthawks routed Salina Central 8-0 at the Salthawk Sports Complex.
The Salthawks have not lost since their season opener, a run of six games without a loss.
During the five-game winning streak, Hutchinson has scored 23 goals. Thursday, the floodgates opened in the second half, as Hutchinson scored five times, winning by mercy rule for the first time this season.
Hutchinson improved to 5-1-1 and climbed to sixth place in the Class 5A West Regional standings. The Salthawks return to action Tuesday at home to play Goddard-Eisenhower.
