Hutchinson High sophomore Ayra Byard qualified for the Class 5A state bowling meet on Tuesday at the 5A regional at The Alley in Hutchinson.
Byard was the only Salthawk, boy or girl, to qualify for state.
Byard was the fifth-best individual from a team that didn’t qualify for state. The top six such individuals qualified.
Byard finished 10th overall, rolling a 487 series. Her best game was her last when she bowled a 192.
The Hutch girls finished sixth overall in the 11-team regional with a final score of 2,372.
The boys team finished 10th with a score of 2,517. Cooper Oller had the best series for the Salthawks, scoring a 511 and finishing 31st.
