HESSTON, Kan. — Congratulations to Hesston High School sophomore Tanner McAllister, Ad Astra Radio’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Mcallister won the Class 4-3-2-1A regional championship at The Alley in Hutchinson, and he did it in dominating fashion. McAllister was the only player to bowl a 600 series, and he finished the three-game regional with a 661 score. Mcallister took the early lead with a 219, but he fell to third place after a second-game 197. Mcallister, however, remained consistent and bowled a 245. He won by 66.
The season – Mcallister, a sophomore, is averaging a 220 series. His season bests are a 289 game, and a 754 series. He is one of two Swathers to qualify for the state tournament, which will be Thursday at Wichita.
