CHENEY, Kan. — Each week, Ad Astra Radio recognizes different athlete’s outstanding achievements. We are proud to announce this week’s Athlete of the Week as Cheney High School senior Raegan Black!
The week – Black led a dominant day by the Cardinals on Thursday at the Kingman Invitational. Black edged three teammates for the individual title, finishing the 18-hole tournament at Eagles Pub and Golf Course with a 22-over par 94. Cheney won the tournament with a 385, 42 strokes ahead of runner-up Pratt.
The season – Black, a senior, has three top-10 finishes this season. Her season-best score is 93, which was at Hesston. Black finished ninth at regionals last year and was a Class 3-2-1A state qualifier.
