RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The United Way of Reno County is excited to announce the successful launch of its 2024-2025 campaign. Under the leadership of campaign co-chairs Keith and Angie Zwickl, and the Campaign Hype Squad, the campaign is making remarkable progress. This year’s fundraising goal is $1,300,000, and according to United Way of Reno County CEO Lacey Mills, the campaign has already raised over $350,000, demonstrating the community’s strong support.

The fundraising efforts include Workplace Campaigns and a variety of events hosted by local organizations, with contributions also coming in online and through the mail. The United Way extends its gratitude to everyone who has contributed, whether through personal donations, event participation, or workplace giving. The community’s generosity is appreciated and particularly vital given the increasing needs in the area.

Funds raised will support 21 local nonprofits, enabling them to run 33 programs that serve individuals from birth through the end of life. The Reno Connections program plays a crucial role by linking individuals in need with essential resources, especially when they face challenges in finding assistance independently or when their employers are uncertain about where to turn for help.

The organization also backs initiatives such as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books to 2,800 children aged 0-5 each month in Reno County. Additional programs like the Delta Dental Savings program, a prescription savings program, and 7 Cups mental health support are further expanding the positive impact on the community.

The United Way of Reno County invites everyone to consider making a donation to support these vital efforts. By working together, the community can continue to uplift its members and ensure that everyone has access to the necessary resources.
