RENO COUNTY, Kan. (August 26, 2025) — We are pleased to announce that the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is complete. This achievement reflects the strong partnership between the Reno County Health Department, Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, United Way of Reno County, Horizon’s Mental Health Center, PrairieStar Health Center, Hutchinson Clinic, and the City of Hutchinson.

This assessment, which takes place every three years, gives us a clearer picture of the challenges and opportunities in our community’s health. Most importantly, it helps us work together toward creating a healthier Reno County for everyone.

Through your feedback and the data collected, we’ve identified six key priorities that will guide our efforts moving forward:

  1. Access to Care
  2. Behavioral Health and Substance Misuse
  3. Food Security
  4. Transportation
  5. Affordable Housing
  6. Address Health Disparities and Community Voice

The full CHNA report is available to the public at www.renocountycha.org.

The next step is developing a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), which will build on these priorities to create real, lasting change. We’ll continue reaching out to residents for input, because the success of this plan depends on the voices of our community.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate – whether online, by phone, or in person. Your input makes a difference, and together we can take meaningful steps to improve the health and well-being of our county.
