HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson announces the replacement of a critical water line under Severance Street between 17th Avenue and 23rd Avenue. The repair is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 1 at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 3:00 p.m. A new line is being put into service requiring the shutdown of a major water line. During the repair period the Water Treatment Center will only be able to operate at 25% production capacity.
Once the water line construction is completed on Monday, focus will turn to repair of Severance Street – street repair should be completed by the end of July, depending on weather.
Since the water treatment plant will not be able to keep up with the typical hot summer water demand while running at 25% production capacity, we kindly request residents to conserve water while the pipeline is out of service.
