HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Recreation Commission announces the hiring of a new Nature Education Coordinator at Dillon Nature Center.
Rebecca McElroy started at Hutch Rec as the Nature Education Coordinator at Dillon Nature Center on July 15. She comes to Hutch Rec with experience in conservation and wildlife, as she has spent most of her professional career in zookeeping at various zoos across the state. McElroy graduated from Kansas State University and received a bachelor’s of science degree in conservation and wildlife biology. She also received an associate’s degree in zoo animal technology from Santa Fe College.
In her role at Hutch Rec, McElroy assures sufficient and quality nature education and outdoor recreation programs through planning, organizing, and coordinating programs for all ages at the nature center, area schools, and various sites. McElroy offices at Dillon Nature Center, located at 3002 E. 30th Avenue in Hutchinson.
“I am thrilled to begin this new adventure at Dillon Nature Center,” McElroy says. “I look forward to creating new and exciting learning opportunities that will inspire and engage the community to be their own versions of conservation warriors.”
