HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Heartland Credit Union has recently announced the promotion of Kevin Wiens to Vice President of Underwriting. Wiens will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting department, which handles deciding direct and indirect loan applications, monitoring consumer loan portfolio performance, and cultivates relationships with automotive dealership partners.
“I am excited for Kevin and for what he will deliver in this new role. He has already made a significant impact during his time working directly with our dealer partners,” said Chief Consumer Officer Jeremy Stauffacher. “The positive feedback and results demonstrate dedication to these new responsibilities.”
Stauffacher also shared that Wiens’ knowledge and leadership are “vital” components of a healthy, growing lending program that will help contribute to the company’s success.
Wiens started at Heartland Credit Union as Credit Analyst in 2013. Since then, he has also served as Underwriting Manager and Assistant Vice President of Underwriting at HCU. Wiens has a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration and brings a wealth of experience from his career in the financial industry, including more than 15 years as Owner and Partner of Kaufman Wiens, Inc. in Hutchinson, Kan.
