Voters in Moundridge and one ward in Great Bend will have primary elections Tuesday.
In Moundridge, seven candidates are seeking two open City Council seats. One of the seats is currently held by Wayne Fisher, who is running for Mayor, and the other held by Kirk Stucky who is not seeking re-election
Seven candidates are running in the primary, with the top four vote getters to advance to the November general election, Candidates on the ballot are Joseph Unruh, Ron Blaylock, Dave Whitcomb, Patrick Lambert, James Ratzlaff, Ryan Durst and Scott Hensler.
The Great Bend race is in Ward 2, which is basically the northwest part of Great Bend. Incumbent Alan Moeder is one of two candidates running for Mayor to succeed Cody Schmidt who is not seeking another term.
Candidates seeking the position include Stephen Patton, Suresh Bhadur Maharjan, Charlie Dixon, and Jay Luerman. The two candidates receiving the most votes will advance to the November general election.
Advance voting for the primary election concludes at noon Monday at the respective County Clerk’s offices. Polls Tuesday will be open from 7 AM until 7 PM, with Moundridge voter casting ballots at the Northridge Community Center and Great Bend Ward 2 voters casting their ballots at the Prince of Peace St. Patrick’s Community Center at 4100 Broadway.
