HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One man is in custody after a pursuit that resulted in a crash and a shot being filed Monday afternoon just east of downtown Hutchinson.

According to the Hutchinson Police Department, agents from the Kansas Department of Corrections Task Force located James Smith, 36, who was wanted on felony warrants, in the area of 11th and Severance. Before making contact Smith fled from Hutchinson Police who did not pursue him at that point due to prior fleeing history.

He was apprehended shortly thereafter.
