According to Prairie Land Realtors’ Mid Kansas Multiple Listing Services, 132 residential units were sold in August, down 14.8% from a year ago, with total sales volume of $26.2 million also down from August 2024.
Median sale prices for the month came to $185,170, up 10.9% from the prior year, with homes sold typically being on the market for 13 days and selling at 100% of list price.
As of Aug. 31, the Mid Kansas MLS has 287 active listings, or about a 2.3 month supply, the unit numbers the same as the same date last year, with a median list price of $215,000.
During August, 113 contracts were written, down 93 from a year ago, with 150 contracts pending at the end of the month.
In Reno County, 63 homes sold, down 20.3 percent from last August, with the median sale price of $135,000 down 6.5%. There were 104 active listings in Reno County as of Aug. 31, or a 1.8 month supply.
In the McPherson area, which includes MLS sales in McPherson and Marion counties the 33 homes sold was down 25 percent from the prior year, with the median sale price of $212,500 up seven tenths of a percent from 2024 with 75 active listing at the end of the month, or a 2.3 month supply.
In the Pratt area, which also includes MLS sales in Barber County, 11 homes sold which is more than double a year ago, at a median sale price of $250,000 which was up 35.1 percent from August 2024.The Pratt area has 32 active listings, or a 3.4 month supply.
