United Way of Central Kansas is excited to celebrate Dolly Day on September 25, and local businesses and community members are invited to join the fun!
Dolly Day celebrates her generosity, kindness and love of books while raising funds for the local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Businesses can participate in whatever way works for them: round up purchases, offer a Dolly-themed product or special, invite employees to donate $9.25, dress in pink and rhinestones, sponsor a Little Reader—or create an idea of their own. Dolly never was one for fitting into a box!
The community can also celebrate with UWCK at Fridays on Forest from 5–10 p.m. on September 25. Stop by the Dolly Day photo booth, contribute to a community “Coat of Many Colors” art project and help fill the boot with donations for local readers.
Nearly 850 children across Barton and Pawnee counties currently receive books through the Imagination Library. A gift of just $30 provides books to one local child for an entire year.
