WICHITA, Kan. (milb.com/wichita) – Wind Surge shortstop Ernie Yake was the stand-out player of the game when he went 2-3 at the plate and drove in a run in a low scoring ball game. He also had a couple of impressive defensive fielding plays throughout the game. The Travelers defeated the Wind Surge 3-1 and won the series five games to one.

The Travelers scored first. Isiah Gilliam continued to cause trouble for the Surge pitching, as he has all series, when he hit a line drive RBI single in the top of the first. Then Patrick Frick hit a sacrifice fly that scored a run in the top of the second.

Wichita got on board in the bottom of the second. Yake started at shortstop and got his first hit of the season for the Wind Surge in his third game played. He hit a double and was able to drive in a run on a beautifully struck ball straight down the right field foul line that stayed fair.

Spencer Packard hit an RBI single in the top of the fifth that added the final run for the Travelers.

Travis Adams was the starting pitcher for the Wind Surge and was credited with the loss. He pitched four and one thirds innings, gave up three runs on four hits and struck out four batters. Kyle Tyler started for the Travs and earned the win. He pitched six innings, gave up one run one six hits and struck out four batters.

The Wichita Wind Surge fall to 28-34 on the season and the first place Arkansas Travelers improve to 45-24.
