McPherson, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Women’s Soccer Team took a trip down Old Highway 81 to McPherson, Kan. to take on the Central Christian College Tigers in the Swedes’ season opener.
The Swedes came out attacking as Jysell Sampedro put up a shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match. As for the defense, they held strong throughout most of the first half, but the Tigers would jump on the board in the 43rd minute just before halftime to go up 1-0.
The second half was a bit rough for Bethany as Central Christian would tack on two more early on and ride this one out 3-0.
Offensively, the Swedes came out with the first shot on goal, but that would be their lone shot on goal. Mackenzie Nutter drew the start and racked up six saves over the evening.

The Swedes will have three days to rest up before taking on the Mount Marty University Lancers in Wichita, Kan. at Stryker Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
