BELLEVILLE, Ill. (MacBulldogs.com) — The Bulldogs returned to the lanes after a two week long break for their first of four straight tier-one tournaments in the National Collegiate Team Match Games over this past weekend (Nov. 23-Nov. 24).
For the first time in the young history of the program, the Bulldogs finished out a weekend of play in a tier one tournament inside the top 10. With a total pinfall of 7,399, MC finished 45 pins ahead of William Woods to secure 10th place overall. The pinfall for the Bulldogs had them finishing just 34 pins behind Central Missouri, who was able to take 9th place.
Individually, Kayla Wood finished out the tournament within the top 35. Wood averaged 174.2 across her five games, which placed her 31st overall, with her best effort coming in her second game with a score of 185. Monica Pollock followed up not far behind her teammate, finishing out with a 163.6 average with a high of 180. Rounding out the best efforts for MC was Alyssa Porcelli, who scored a 167.2 average across four games played with a high of 187.
The Bulldogs will head to Las Vegas as they will participate in the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational for their next weekend of action. Day one will start on Saturday, December 18 at 4:00 p.m. PST with the second day starting up at 3:50 PST on Sunday, December 18.
