NEVADA, Mo. (MacBulldogs.com) — The Bulldogs were unable to secure their first win of the season in their final game outside of KCAC play as they fell to the Cottey College Comets on the road on Tuesday (Nov. 26), 64-39.

Offensive troubles plagued the Bulldogs in the first half of play as they shot just 23% in the first quarter and 33% in the second quarter while going just 1-7 from behind the three point line. Cottey College did not suffer from the same issues as they scored with ease, shooting 42% throughout the first half and taking a commanding 37-17 lead into halftime.

The proverbial lid remained on the basket for MC in the second half, shooting just 14% in the third quarter as the Comets continued to expand their lead. The Bulldogs were able to raise their shooting percentage to 26% in the fourth, but Cottey College had already made the lead insurmountable as MC fell to 0-9 on the season.

Skylar Bencsek secured the best game of her young career, scoring a team high six points in 11 minutes of play. Gillian Rodgers had a solid all around game as well, scoring five points and pulling down five rebounds.

MC continues the road trip as they get back to KCAC play on December 4 in a matchup against the pre-season pick to win the conference in Tabor College. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
