McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs fell to the Tabor College Bluejays 58-43 Saturday (Feb. 24) in the season finale inside the Sport Center.
Madelyn Hankins led the Bulldogs with 14 points and six rebounds, including going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line. Matisyn Moses added nine points and seven rebounds.
Points came at a premium all night, as the Bulldogs shot just 18.2 percent from the three point line, and were just 14-for-46 from the field. MC scored just two points off of 12 Tabor turnovers.
The Bulldogs kept things close in the first quarter, trailing 14-12 after the opening ten minutes, but MC shot just 18.2 percent from the field in the second frame that dug them into a 30-19 hole at the break.
MC outscored the Bluejays 14-10 in the fourth quarter to trim the lead to 40-33 with ten minutes to play, but from there the Bluejays pushed their lead to as many as 19 in the final period to come away with the win.
Alyvia Owens finished with 13 points to lead the Bluejays (24-4, 21-1 KCAC), while Maddie McCoy and Ja’Neysha Hendricks each added eight points.
The Bluejays shot 39.2 percent from the field, but were just 4-for-17 from beyond the arc. Tabor scored 24 points off of 24 Bulldog turnovers, and finished with 28 points in the paint.
The Bulldogs season comes to an end with a 7-21 record and a 3-19 mark in conference play.
