Waymond Jordan rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown to help lead the University of Southern California to a 59-20 over Georgia Southern Saturday night in Los Angeles.
Jordan was the NJCAA Division I Player of the Year while leading Hutchinson Community College to national title last season.
Jordan’s TD came on a 36-yard run early in the second half. He also had a fumble on the opening kickoff that led to Georgia Southern’s first touchdown.
Georgia Southern (0-2) is guided by former USC coach Clay Helton.
The Trojans have scored 132 points and allowed 33 in their first two games. USC won its season-opener 73-13 over Missouri State on Aug. 31.
The Trojans received 64 points in the latest Associated Press Top 25 College Football poll (released on Sunday), which would place USC 30th.
Ohio State, Penn State and LSU remained the top three teams in the AP poll.
USC visits Purdue on Saturday for its Big Ten Conference opener.
