Warriors Compete at KCAC Championship

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The Sterling College Warriors competed well at the 2025 KCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8. The men finished seventh as a team with a score of 203 while the women finished 10th with a score of 298.

For the men, Jacob Tonne led the way for the Warriors in the 8K, finishing in 58th with a time of 28:05.26. Daryen Jefferson was right behind him with a time of 28:25.58 to finish 64th.

Camryn Gantt and Jace Gaston placed 68th and 70th with times of 28:53.38 and 29:03.6, respectively. Ian Chrisler took the fifth spot for Sterling with a tome of 29:25.04 to finish 75th. Wesley Brantley also competed for the Warriors, placing 100th with a time of 32:19.37.

Lydia Nelson and Claire Miller led the Lady Warriors in the 6K finishing 60th and 61st with times of 27:51.84 and 27:55.91, respectively. Sheridan Nguyen finished 73rd in her first meet of the year with a time of 30:09.10.

Rounding out the field for the Sterling was Audrey Blake and Lady Warrior tennis player, Greta Fankhauser. Blake finished 82nd with a time of 31:35.53 while Fankhauser ran a time of 33:46.72 to place 89th.

The men’s team will be back in action at the NCCAA Cross Country Championship on Friday, Nov. 14 in Joplin, Mo. at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
